       The change in lifestyle and standards has increased the life expectancy at birth throughout the world. Parallel to this, the world population has also begun to age. According to TSI (Turkish Statistical Institute) need both projections made by the World Health Organization, Turkey will be the second country in the elderly population will increase fastest in the world over the next 25 years. In parallel with the increasing number of elderly people, there is an increase in the number of applications for the elderly nursing and rehabilitation centers serving for elderly people over the age of 60. As a result, the quality of health and care services offered to the elderly population is important for the whole world.

       In order to contribute to the reduction of physical, mental and social inadequacies of the elderly, the need for intermediary personnel to provide medical and social care services emerged. For this reason, the students who will benefit from the program, elderly care service, integrating the necessary knowledge, skills and values; The main aim of the program is to ensure that they are a competent elderly care technician who is a practitioner and developer of elderly care services in the public domain, private area and non-governmental organizations. The elderly care program includes two-year associate degree education.
