On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, a meaningful event aimed at developing social awareness and social responsibility was held by our Vocational School within the scope of the May 10-16 Disability Awareness Week. First-year students of the Health Institutions Management Program, as part of their “Our Values” course, visited the Resadiye Anne Sevgisi Special Education and Rehabilitation Center under the leadership of our Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Gungor, and met with individuals with special needs receiving education at the center. During the visit, various social, cultural, and educational activities were organized by our students to support the active participation of individuals with special needs in social life; a sincere and shared environment was created between our students and individuals with special needs. Through the activities carried out during the event, the aim was to raise awareness among our students regarding social sensitivity, empathy, communication skills, and social responsibility; and at the same time, attention was drawn to the importance of individuals with special needs in social life. The program was also attended by Selim Bolat, the Reşadiye District National Education Director and our external stakeholder. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between educational institutions, increasing social solidarity, and raising awareness for individuals with special needs. This event was a significant activity contributing to the development of our students not only academically but also in terms of ethical values, social responsibility, and human sensitivity. We would like to thank Ahmet Turk, Director of Resadiye Anne Sevgisi Special Education and Rehabilitation Center, and Psychologist Büşra Erdem for their kind hospitality and valuable contributions to the event; our Reşadiye District National Education Director and external stakeholder, Selim Bolat, for honoring our event with his presence; and also our first-year Health Institutions Management Program students for successfully representing our Vocational School with their exemplary behavior, sensitivity, and sense of social responsibility. Our Vocational School continues to prioritize activities that prioritize respect for individual differences, support social integration, and aim to strengthen social responsibility awareness. Within this framework, the aim is to continue implementing practices and activities that will contribute to the development of our students not only in terms of academic competence but also in terms of social awareness, ethical values, and a human-centered approach.
