The May evaluation meeting of our Vocational School's Zero Waste and Environment Commission was held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, under the chairmanship of our Vocational School Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim GUNGOR. During the meeting, the zero waste management and environmental sustainability activities carried out within our Vocational School were comprehensively evaluated; the effectiveness of existing practices was reviewed in line with sustainable campus goals. In this context, the work carried out to separate waste at the source, increase the efficiency of recovery and recycling processes, the effective use of natural resources, and the reduction of environmental impacts were discussed. In addition, awareness activities, training, and information campaigns aimed at developing environmental awareness and a sustainable living culture among students and staff were evaluated; and suggestions for strengthening the understanding of environmental responsibility at the institutional level were discussed. Furthermore, ideas were exchanged regarding activities planned for the future, improvement efforts, and strategies to increase the effectiveness of the environmental management system. The decisions taken as a result of the meeting are as follows: The aim is to contribute to strengthening the institutional structure of our Vocational School, which is environmentally conscious, uses its resources effectively, and embraces the principles of sustainable development, as well as to promote zero-waste practices and continuously improve environmental performance. In this regard, a consensus has been reached on the commitment to continue efforts towards environmental management and zero-waste practices.
