The Orientation Program of our Vocational School for the 2026-2027 academic year was held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in the Vocational School Conference Hall.
Organized to facilitate the new students' adaptation to higher education life and to ensure they gain information about academic and administrative processes as well as student services, the program began with a moment of silence followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
During the program, our Vocational School Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Gungor, delivered a speech to the students. In his address, he offered insights regarding the students' academic and professional development and emphasized the importance of self-improvement throughout their educational journey.
In a presentation delivered by our Deputy Director, Lecturer Emrah Cevik, information was provided on the Vocational School's academic and administrative structure, official website and Instagram account, Distance Education Platform, Education and Examination Regulations, Disciplinary Regulations, Student Information System, Multiple Assessment and Evaluation System, Course Information Packages, Digital Program Guides, student clubs, and the zero-waste initiative.
In a presentation given by our Deputy Director, Lecturer Sema Yabaci, information was provided regarding Double Major and Minor Programs, Rectorate-affiliated coordinatorship offices and research and application centers, student-centered research projects, and the TUBITAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program. The program continued with presentations introducing the departments and programs within our Vocational School. Department heads delivered presentations covering the aims and objectives of the programs, the degrees to be awarded, admission and graduation requirements, opportunities for progression to higher levels of study, employment prospects, and details regarding examination, assessment, and evaluation processes.
In this context, the presentations were delivered by the following department heads: Lecturer Ugur Cigdem (Acting Head, Computer Technologies Department); Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Darici (Head, Office Services and Secretarial Department); Lecturer Betul Kubra Sahin Yonca (Acting Head, Child Care and Youth Services Department); Lecturer Merve Ayse Sahin (Acting Head, Health Care Services Department); Lecturer Dr. Mehmet Armagan (Acting Head, Therapy and Rehabilitation Department); and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Gungor (Head, Management and Organization Department).
The orientation program aimed to familiarize students with the academic and administrative operations of our Vocational School, provide information on the educational and career opportunities offered by their respective programs, and enable them to embark on their higher education journey with greater awareness. The program concluded with well-wishes for the students' success and a productive academic life in the upcoming year.
