An introductory meeting was held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at our Vocational School’s conference hall as part of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) Micro-Credential Framework initiatives being implemented at our university; the event aimed to inform students about micro-credential practices, raise awareness regarding the system's operation, and support their career development.
In line with CoHE’s 2030 Vision Action Plan, emphasis is placed on developing micro-credentials to adapt to rapidly changing skill demands and to support students' lifelong learning processes. During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pelin Seval Esen, Deputy Director of our University’s Continuing Education Research and Application Center, shared information regarding the scope of the micro-credential concept, the implementation process, and the education and development opportunities offered to students.
The meeting addressed the role of micro-credentials in diversifying students' knowledge, skills, and competencies; their contributions to academic and professional development processes; and the opportunities they provide for career planning. Additionally, explanations were provided regarding the operation of the micro-credential system, the process for students to benefit from these practices, and application stages, followed by a Q&A session.
The meeting is expected to contribute to helping our students adapt to changing skill requirements, enhance their individual and professional competencies, and support their career development. We extend our thanks to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pelin Seval Esen for her valuable contributions to the program, and to the students, as well as the academic and administrative staff, for their interest and participation.
